Ohio State Buckeyes Playbook
We present the Ohio State Buckeyes Playbook, written by coach Chris Holtmann. On June 9, 2017, Holtmann took over as Ohio State’s 14th head coach, succeeding Thad Matta. Holtmann led the Buckeyes to a 2-seed in the 2021 NCAA Tournament, but they were upset in the first round by 15-seed Oral Roberts.
The Ohio State Buckeyes men’s basketball team competes in NCAA Division I collegiate basketball for The Ohio State University. The Buckeyes are a member of the Big Ten Conference.
The Buckeyes play their home games at Value City Arena, which opened in 1998 as part of the Jerome Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio. The center’s official capacity is 19,200 people. As of the 2016 season, Ohio State was rated 28th in the US in average home attendance.
The Buckeyes have won one national title (1960), four national runner-up finishes, 10 Final Four trips (one more appearance was annulled by the NCAA), and 27 NCAA Tournament appearances (four other appearances have been vacated).
